I started this blog in 2015 to achieve two primary objectives. First, I wanted to chronicle the evolution of my thought as I ventured away from the liberal progressive paradigm in which I grew up. Second, I wanted to offer my perspectives on Western thought and culture to the world in the hope that others may derive both enjoyment and value.
The title of the blog is a reference to the illicit underground literature that was published and circulated by communist dissidents under the Soviet regime. Sadly, it seemed appropriate for our own new age of revolutionary politics.
My journey began with a full immersion into Rothbardian libertarianism, but has since expanded to encompass a wider scope of thought including traditionalism, morality, culture, occultism, espionage and conspiracy. The essays further back in the archive will tend to lean more heavily towards a strictly libertarian framework while the more recent ones will reflect the same general outlook but casting a wider net of perspective.
I continue write about art, economics, history, philosophy, science, technology, religion and politics from what I currently describe as a postmodern reactionary perspective. Though I remain sympathetic to libertarianism in general, I simply don’t know exactly how else to self-identify using the standard political nomenclature. Rather, it came from the recognition that the postmodern cultural hegemony has rendered the standard Western liberal/conservative political dichotomy bankrupt. The appropriation of the term “postmodern” should not be construed as an endorsement of either philosophical postmodernism or neo-Marxism. On the contrary, it is precisely these phenomena that motivated me to enter the battlefield of ideas in the first place. Perhaps one day I’ll lay claim to something more easily identifiable. And perhaps not.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy the essays.
